4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 packet dry Italian dressing mix
1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken or golden mushroom soup
1/2 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
8 oz cream cheese, cubed
4 tbsp unsalted butter
12 oz angel hair pasta
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
In a saucepan, melt cream cheese, soup, butter, wine or broth, and Italian dressing mix. Stir until smooth.
Place chicken in the bottom of a slow cooker. Pour sauce over top.
Cover and cook on low for 5–6 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until chicken is tender.
Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
Shred chicken into sauce (optional). Stir to combine.
Serve over angel hair pasta. Garnish with parsley if desired.
Substitute angel hair with spaghetti, egg noodles, or rice.
Add spinach or mushrooms during the last hour for extra nutrition.
For a lighter version, use reduced-fat cream cheese and skip the butter.
