This Easy Vanilla Pound Cake is buttery, dense, and tender — a perfect everyday cake made with simple pantry ingredients and rich vanilla flavor.
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1½ cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ cup whole milk or heavy cream
Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy (4–5 mins).
Beat in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla.
Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
Add flour mixture to butter in three batches, alternating with milk. Mix just until combined.
Pour into pan and smooth the top.
Bake 60–70 mins, until toothpick comes out clean.
Cool in pan 10 mins, then transfer to a wire rack.
