8 oz pasta (penne, spaghetti, or preferred shape)
1 tbsp olive oil
4–5 garlic cloves, minced
1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
½ cup heavy cream or half-and-half
Salt and pepper to taste
¼ cup grated Parmesan (optional)
2 tbsp fresh chopped basil or parsley
Cook pasta in salted water. Reserve ½ cup pasta water. Drain.
In a skillet, sauté garlic in olive oil until fragrant.
Add crushed tomatoes. Simmer 5–7 minutes.
Stir in cream. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper. Add cooked pasta and reserved water if needed.
Toss in Parmesan and herbs. Serve hot.
