Ingredients

12 ounces pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic minced
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 14-ounce can crushed tomatoes
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook pasta in salted water and reserve pasta water.

  • Sauté garlic in olive oil.

  • Stir in tomato paste and cook briefly.

  • Add crushed tomatoes and simmer.

  • Stir in cream and Parmesan.

  • Season to taste.

  • Toss pasta with sauce and adjust with pasta water.

  • Garnish and serve.

Notes

Simmer gently after adding cream.
