1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 cup milk (or non-dairy)
⅓ cup vegetable oil
1 tbsp white or apple cider vinegar
2 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup hot water or coffee
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8×8-inch pan.
Whisk dry ingredients in a bowl.
Add milk, oil, vinegar, and vanilla. Stir until smooth.
Slowly stir in hot water or coffee.
Pour into pan and bake for 30–35 minutes.
Cool, slice, and serve.
Use Dutch cocoa for a richer flavor.
